Mr Ali has been in the Curry business since 1980 and established Shajan Indian Restaurant in 1992. It started off as a small 85 seater set in the picturesque Ribble Valley. Due to its increased popularity the restaurant had to be extended three times to its current 205 capacity excluding the lounge. It has been nominated and won the BCA best indian restaurant in the north west twice in a row.
The Shajan motto is not to compromise on quality, service and value for money.

Mohammad Ali, owner of the Shajan restaurant who has retained his best caterer of the year title in the national Bangladesh Caterers Association’s food awards. An Indian restaurant in East Lancashire has been named the best in the North West.It comes just days after another restaurant in the same Ribble Valley road was crowned Gordon Ramsay’s favourite Chinese eatery in the country. Mohammad Ali, of Shajan Indian Restaurant in Clayton-le-Dale, was named ‘best caterer of the year’ by the Bangladesh Caterers’ Association.
